Google Business Profile checkup
For most local service businesses, the free Google listing brings in more calls than the website does. Work through these twenty points and you will know exactly where yours is leaking.
20 things left to fix
Start at the top of the list — categories, service area and photos move the needle fastest. Then make sure the website the listing points to actually converts the click.
Common questions
Is a Google Business Profile the same as a website?
No. The profile is the free listing that shows up in Google Maps and in the local results near the top of a search. The website is where people go once the listing has convinced them to look closer. You want both, and they support each other.
Which of these twenty matters most?
Categories, service area, photos and reviews. Getting your primary category right is the single biggest lever, and consistent recent photos and reviews are what keep you above competitors who set theirs up once and forgot it.
How often should I post or add photos?
Once or twice a month is plenty. Real job photos from the last few weeks do more than anything staged, and they signal to Google that the listing is actively managed.
Can I rank in Maps without a website?
You can, but you will lose to competitors who have one. The website is where Google confirms your services, area and legitimacy, and where a visitor decides whether to trust you.
Do you handle this for members?
The website side is what I build and maintain. I will happily walk you through your profile on a call and tell you exactly what to change, but you keep control of your own listing.
